The name change comes as the Army transitions to planning and conducting large-scale combat operations in contested environments. “When we change an MOS title in the Army, we do it not for superficial rebranding or administrative convenience; we do it because the character of war has changed,” said Col.
Stacy Moore-Callaway, Quartermaster commandant. “Our operational imperatives have shifted, and the battlefield demands that our doctrines, our titles, and our Soldiers' mindsets instead reflect the brutal reality of large-scale combat operations. “We formally redesignate our culinary specialists, stepping forward under the title that truly captures the 92G's operational weight, and that is to turn them into tactical field feeding specialists,” said Moore-Callaway. “When we look at modern battle spaces that are taking shape around the globe, we know that we must shift the mindset of every single Soldier in our formation towards survivability and true lethality.” Army cooks were given specific positions
