The 14th edition of the annual Shaky Knees Music Festival filled Atlanta’s Piedmont Park over the weekend, with a total estimated crowd of 50,000 across three sold-out days of music. Saturday’s shows were interrupted due to thunderstorms, which caused frequent lightning and brief flash-flooding and sent thousands of fans sloshing through nearby streets searching for shelter after the festival evacuated the grounds.

Popular group Pierce the Veil was unable to perform due to the timing of the severe weather, but the concert resumed later in the evening with Twenty One Pilots. Although storms skirted the area Sunday night, the festival remained dry as pink clouds filled the sky during the Wu-Tang Clan’s sunset slot before Gorillaz took the stage, where singer Damon Albarn encouraged the audience to vote in upcoming midterm elections. Since 2013, Shaky Knees has attracted Foo Fighters, Green Day, the National and Wilco to various locations around Atlanta, refining its offerings over the years to become one of the premiere rock festivals in America.
