Colorado State Sen. Dylan Roberts was elected co-chair of the Colorado River Forum’s Upper Basin during last week’s meeting in San Diego, where lawmakers and water officials discussed the looming expiration of the Interim Operating Guidelines and the growing need for basin-wide collaboration on conservation, infrastructure and long-term planning. The forum includes lawmakers from the seven states along the Colorado River Basin and is led by co-chairs from the Upper and Lower Basins who serve two-year terms. “In an unprecedented time of uncertainty for the Colorado River Basin, I am honored to have been elected by a forum of my peers to serve as a leader and representative for the Upper Basin,” Roberts said in a news release.
