Atlanta police are investigating after a man was found fatally shot Sunday afternoon in southwest Atlanta. ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Atlanta police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon following an altercation at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta. Police said the shooting began during an altercation at an apartment complex near Cushman Circle SW. The man was shot, then drove to a gas station on Pryor Road, where he died. Officers responded about 1:56 p.m. and found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, police said. Earlier, about 1:42 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 3230 Cushman Circle SW.

Police said the two calls involved the same victim. The hourslong investigation closed the gas station, disrupting work for people in the area. “I’m trying to go to the Subway to pick up my DoorDash order, and I can’t,” DoorDash driver Cine Wendy said. “I’m trying to make some money, and stuff like that — shootings — keeps happening.” Lt. Christopher Butler said the shooting was the Atlanta Police Department’s sixth or seventh homicide of the week and urged people to resolve conflicts without guns. “People just need to put their guns down and have a discussion,” Butler said. “It should not resort
