Police said one person was killed and another was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on I-285 in Cobb County over the weekend. ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Police said one person was killed and another was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on I-285 in Cobb County over the weekend. The accident happened on I-285 eastbound at I-75 just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Cobb County Police Department. Investigators determined that a black 2006 Ford F-150 became disabled after a tire failure on the highway, causing collisions that left three other vehicles – a black 2024 Hyundai Tucson, a silver 2017 Jeep Patriot and a white 2013 Honda Civic – with “major damage,” police said.
The passenger in the Hyundai Tucson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office. Their identity has not been released. The driver of the Honda Civic was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police said investigators are still working to piece together the exact chain of events.
