Oct. 31, Nov. 1 & 14: Dan Fout Memorial Hunt back again  Circleville Herald

PICKAWAY CO – The Dan Fout Memorial Disabled Veterans Hunt is back for another hunt this October and November. The hunt was originally named the Pickaway County Disabled Veterans Hunt when it was founded in 2010. On October 9 and 10 of 2010, a group of ten disabled veterans and several volunteers held a meal and a shooting contest at Deer Creek State Park. Since then, more dates and more sites have been added. Following the passing of Dan Fout in 2015, it was renamed with his name to honor him. The annual hunt provides Disabled American Veterans the opportunity to hunt deer with archery equipment. They also have the chance to share a meal, participate in contests, and enjoy time with fellow veterans and volunteers.

This year, the ½ day hunts are on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. They both will take place on the Gabriel Farm (28600 Kingston Pike, Circleville). Their timeline looks like: The full day hunt is later in November on Saturday the 14th. This hunt will take place at Deer Creek State Park (20635 State Park Road 20, Mount Sterling). Veterans and volunteers can both apply/register on the Dan Fout Memorial Disabled Veterans Hunt website: danfoutmemorialdavhunt.com/. Any questions regarding the event, application, or volunteer opportunities can be directed to Bill Frost. His email
