New reporters and more: See some recent moves for D-FW news stations Dallas News
The local TV news landscape in Dallas-Fort Worth has seen some faces come and go in recent months. Here's a look at what you may have missed across four major local channels: CBS News Texas Longtime CBS meteorologist Jeff Ray signed off for the final time on June 26, after 16 years at the station. On his final broadcast, he announced he was moving on to a new endeavor. "I'm going to end my career as a meteorologist. I did that for 40 years," Ray said. "Now I'm going to start my career as a farmer, just like my grandfather, who worked as a truck farmer outside of Youngstown, Ohio, and I'm going to work a truck farm out of Pikeville, Tennessee." Fox 4 Fox 4 reporter Payton May called it quits last month after two years on the station's morning newscast Good Day.
"From the moment I crossed the Red River two years ago, I knew this place would be special," she wrote on social media. "To the incredible FOX4 viewers, you’ve brought smiles after the darkest of days and confidence after some of the most difficult ones.
