ATLANTA — Several dozen people, holding posters and flags and eliciting horn honks, gathered on a street corner in Atlanta’s Virginia-Highland neighborhood to encourage voters to head to the polls. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] It was one of dozens of No Kings rallies across North Georgia Saturday to whip up voter participation in the Nov. 3 midterm election. These No Kings demonstrations began last year to protest the policies of President Donald Trump, but the focus Saturday was on voter turnout.

“Regardless of party affiliation, to go vote, secure the vote, regardless of your persuasion,” said David Cameron, who organized the rally at the corner of Virginia Ave. and Highland Ave. “We say there’s strength in numbers. We will not be intimidated away from the polls.” Marsha Scott has attended all four of the No Kings rallies in Atlanta since they began in June 2025. She brought along her “Democrat Dog,” Murphy, a Goldendoodle who sat beside her as Scott held up a sign that read “Vote Now.” “I hope it gets people fired up to go out and vote and vote early,” she said.
