In this new season of Autocracy in America, host Anne Applebaum sits down with leaders in politics, technology, and culture to discuss what can be done now to reverse the slide toward autocracy.
The following is a transcript:
Anne Applebaum: The midterms mark the beginning of the end of President Donald Trump’s second term in office. Although we don’t know who and what the results will bring, we do know that, regardless of what happens, there will now be opportunities to prevent the further degradation of our democracy. This November, the Autocracy in America podcast is coming back, this time to focus on that recovery.
I’m Anne Applebaum of The Atlantic. Join me for interviews with the people who will be leading the charge. I’ll talk with leaders about their plans to work with the administration, to restore international relationships, and to repair the damage done to our economy. I’ll ask what it could look like to retrain and restrain ICE, rescue our cultural institutions, and keep our elections safe.
The new season of Autocracy in America arrives Tuesday, November the 10th, and will be available in video and audio. Subscribe on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.
