Concerned about children being endangered by speeding cars around Miller and Arlington Aves. in Cypress Hills, Boris Maces, 44, about a week ago, took it upon himself to install four speed bumps that he got from his construction job. Frustrated by the city’s lack of response, a Brooklyn man took things into his own hands to combat speeding on his block — installing his own speed bumps on the street. Concerned about children being endangered by speeding cars around Miller and Arlington Aves. in Cypress Hills, Boris Maces, 44, about a week ago, took it upon himself to install four speed bumps that he got from his construction job. Maces said he’s unconcerned if cops give him a fine for the do-it-yourself, driver-slowing devices.

“It’s good for everybody. This street is dangerous,” Maces said, shrugging his shoulders. “The car every day passes fast, so for me and for everybody, this is good.” Cops haven’t responded to the scene to check out his unauthorized handiwork. Maces said neighbors in the had area have complained and asked the city to install speed bumps in the road — and that in March, a car crashed into his parked vehicle, adding to his alarm. “No. The city do nothing,” he said. “The people call the city, ‘Please, put a bump for the kids.’ Nothing.
