A U.S. Air Force base in northeastern Japan activated a new maintenance squadron this month to support its growing fleet of F-35A Lightning II stealth fighters as the installation phases out its F-16s.
They advance to the final competition for top honors in the Army during another round of skills tasks at Fort Benning, Ga., in September.
The contract will procure spares for F-35 fighter jets and will deploy spare packages to the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, F-35 program partners and foreign military customers.
