Falcons quarterback struggles continue in 34-3 loss to Panthers  FOX 5 Atlanta

Cooper Rush completed 10 of 17 passes for 86 yards, with two interceptions and a lost fumble, before coach Kevin Stefanski replaced him in the third quarter. Atlanta trailed 27-3 when undrafted rookie Jack Strand entered to a loud ovation. Strand’s first pass attempt was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. He finished 8 of 15 for 59 yards with an interception and a lost fumble while playing against Carolina second-stringers. The Falcons did not reach the red zone for a second consecutive week.

Stefanski declined to identify a starting quarterback for Thursday night’s visit to Green Bay, saying it was too early to know the plan for the week. Michael Penix Jr., who is recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee, and Tua Tagovailoa, who is nursing an oblique injury, were both on the sideline in street clothes. Stefanski said he was disappointed in the overall performance and would look for answers without singling out one position.
