Week 4: Build a Kit—Hardening the Force through Sustainment and Infrastructure Reviews

Headline: Week 4: Build a Kit—Hardening the Force through Sustainment and Infrastructure Reviews The final week of the Total Force Resilience Campaign… Pentagon Washington, DC. – The final week of the Total Force Resilience Campaign (TFRC) centers on personal self-reliance and tactical sustainment: Build a Kit. In an all-hazard emergency, standard utilities and supply chains may be temporarily disrupted. To increase mission continuity and individual safety, the Army encourages all personnel and families to maintain emergency supply kits capable of sustaining them for at least 72 hours. Under the theme "Prepare Today. Protect Tomorrow," Week 4 encourages a hands-on approach to building and verifying sustainment kits. Families and personnel shall consider assembling "Go-Bags" containing essential items such as water, nonperishable food, flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, and copies of critical personal documents.
Garrisons are encouraged to collaborate with local AAFES Commissaries and Exchanges to feature emergency supply displays and offer competitive pricing on kit essentials. Simultaneously, commanders and facility managers are encouraged to execute operational resilience checks on critical utilities. This includes conducting load tests on facility backup generators, inspecting emergency water storage systems, and verifying fuel points at command posts and staff duty locations to ensure uninterrupted operations during a utility failure. These critical sustainment assets shall be visualized and monitored via command GIS maps. Installation and Command Coordination
