A pedestrian was struck and killed on the Downtown Connector early Thursday morning. ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A pedestrian was struck and killed on the Downtown Connector early Thursday morning. Emergency crews and a police investigation blocked I-75/85 north near North Avenue for several hours. Around 5 a.m., responding officers found an unresponsive 33-year-old man who had been struck by multiple vehicles.

The victim, identified as Darryl Clay, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said their preliminary investigation shows Clay was first hit by a car while in the far-right lane, then struck by an unknown number of other vehicles.
