ATCO Frontec has transformed a remote site in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, into a fully operational temporary military base in three weeks to support 350 Canadian Armed Forces personnel ATCO Frontec has transformed a remote site in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, into a fully operational temporary military base in three weeks to support 350 Canadian Armed Forces personnel. The facility is supporting Operation NANOOK-NUNAKPUT, which runs through Sept. 25 and is intended to strengthen Canada’s northern presence, surveillance, security and overall readiness. The operation brings together military, government, Indigenous and community partners across the Canadian Arctic. ATCO said the deployment required a complete end-to-end infrastructure package delivered under demanding conditions and compressed timelines. The company mobilized accommodations, power generation, water and wastewater systems, airlift and freight logistics, and essential life-support services.

The infrastructure was deployed to give military personnel the support needed to operate safely and effectively in the High Arctic. “Transforming a remote Arctic site into a fully operational base capable of supporting hundreds of military personnel in just three weeks is a remarkable accomplishment,” said Jim Landon, President of ATCO Frontec. “The speed and complexity of this deployment underscores our team’s expertise and commitment to supporting Canada’s most important northern operations.” “We are proud to play a role in enabling the operation and advancing the objectives that are vital to
