Three schools were placed under a soft lockdown during the search. ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A murder suspect out of New York was taken into custody in Gwinnett County on Thursday. The U.S. Marshals Service said it captured Kean Wiggins. The 35-year-old from Albany, New York, was wanted for homicide in the May 6 death of Shardonay Tyce. Marshals had previously offered a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to Wiggins’ capture. According to Gwinnett County police, deputies and marshals were serving a warrant at a local home when Wiggins ran out of the back and allegedly fired at officers. A woman was arrested at the home and charged with harboring a fugitive.

Officials did not release her identity. Law enforcement then established a 2-mile radius and used drones and K-9 units to search for Wiggins. Neighbors said the process took hours. “A lot of my neighbors, we were stuck over there just waiting because some people had to come back over and pick up their kids to go to school,” Andi Wantuadia said.
