Man, 29, found dead on University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus  CBS News

A body was found on the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on Monday morning, authorities said.Urbana public safety officials said the body was found at about 6:42 a.m. near the Alma Mater statue at Green and Wright streets on the university campus.Police said officers found the man on a concrete bench. He has since been identiied as 29-year-old Alex C. Rodriguez, who is not affiliated with the University of Illinois.Police said they immediately claled for emergency medical assistance. The Champaign County Coroner's Office responded and pronounced Rodrdiguez dead at the scene. Public safety officials said there was no evidence of foul play, and an autopsy ha been scheduled.

Police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the campus community and did not issue a campuswide alert.The coroner's office and UIPD are both investigating the circiumstances around the death and anticipate future updates.
