Mayor Zohran Mamdani Invites New Yorkers to Hit the Streets for a Citywide Scavenger Hunt NYC.gov
NEW YORK – Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and the Mayor’s Office of Mass Engagement (OME) today announced a free citywide scavenger hunt inviting New Yorkers to get out into their neighborhoods, explore the five boroughs and discover the people, places and movements that have shaped New York City’s history of organizing. The scavenger hunt will take place Sunday, Oct. 11, with a rain date of Oct. 18. Teams will follow a series of clues leading them to locations across the city, where they will learn about New York’s rich history of civic engagement and organizing. The hunt will culminate with a final clue directing the top participating teams to a final location — and a surprise.
New Yorkers interested in participating must enter the ticket lottery at organize.nyc.gov/scavengerhunt by Oct. 3. Registration closes at the end of the day. “There are few better ways to experience New York City than by getting out into its neighborhoods, meeting the people and discovering the stories that make this city what it is,” said Mayor Zohran Mamdani. “Our city’s history is filled with people who organized and fought to make their neighborhoods and their city better for everyone.
