(Eric Kayne/Stars and Stripes) ARLINGTON, Va. — After running 10 miles through a relentless downpour Sunday, Edward Buck encountered one final obstacle on his way to winning the Army Ten-Miler: a large truck blocking the finish line. As Buck approached the finish line, the lead media truck carrying race photographers stopped directly in his path, forcing him to squeeze between the vehicle and a support structure holding the finish-line signage. The truck was too tall to clear the overhead structure, and personnel could be seen lifting the signage to allow the vehicle to pass underneath.
Buck crossed the finish line in 48 minutes, 40 seconds, averaging 4:52 per mile. Runner-up Sam Chelanga, who finished just four seconds behind Buck in 48:44, also had to navigate around the truck. Edward Buck finishes in first place overall during the 41st annual Army Ten-Mile race in Arlington, Va., on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026. Buck ran at a pace of 4:52/mile and completed the course in 48:40. Buck was forced to the side of the course at the finish line as the follow truck blocked the road due
