SAN DIEGO — Families from across the country descended Thursday on San Diego to greet loved ones disembarking from USS Abraham Lincoln. The aircraft carrier had been at sea for 10 months, and sailors faced more than 250 consecutive days without a port call.

The Lincoln was providing support for the ongoing war in Iran — it's one of 11 U.S. anti nuclear Naval aircraft carriers. The ship docked in the San Diego Bay at the Naval Air Station North Island.
