Rossmore Traffic Light Restored – Larchmont Buzz

Rossmore Traffic Light Restored  Larchmont Buzz

Earlier this month, the traffic light at Rossmore Avenue and Third Street was out due to a power failure. At the beginning of the month, the traffic light at Rossmore Avenue and Third Street went dark. It’s rare for that signal to go out, but when it does, traffic snarls in every direction. If you were wondering what went wrong, so were we, and here’s what we learned. It took a little digging, but according to an LADOT staffer, a power outage knocked out the signal. When power was restored, the light was set to flashing red, which turned the intersection into a four-way stop, with drivers required to stop before proceeding.

A few days later, repair crews came out and fixed the signal, and it has been working normally ever since. Traffic still backs up at peak hours, but that’s just the usual volume, not a malfunctioning light. If you spot a malfunctioning signal, you can report it to LADOT through the MyLA311 app, by dialing 311, or by filing a request online.
