Early voting runs Oct. 19-30 for Tarrant County midterms. Here’s what to know Fort Worth Report
Several local elections and more than 70 partisan races at the county, state and federal levels are on the ballot. Polls open Monday for Tarrant County’s midterm elections, and voters have 12 days to cast a ballot before Election Day on Nov. 3. More than 1.3 million people are registered to vote in Tarrant County. Each of them has the chance to elect new government representatives at the county, state and federal levels. Midterm elections occur at the two-year mark of a presidential term, allowing voters to influence which political party controls the House of Representatives and Senate. The November ballot features more than 70 partisan midterm races — with candidates identified by party — as well as nonpartisan elections for the Tarrant Appraisal District, local school boards, city councils and bond programs.
Democratic and Republican nominees for the partisan races were chosen by voters during the March primaries. Tarrant County’s primary elections saw unusually high voter turnout, which politicians and political observers noted as a likely indicator of increased voter engagement in November as well. 📣 Your Community.
