Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing Man With Car In San Francisco Patch
A woman was arrested on suspicion of a fatal hit-and-run in San Francisco. SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police in San Francisco arrested a woman suspected of killing someone with her vehicle, the department said Sunday. Just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning, police received a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle and arrived at the 800 block of Ellis Street and found an injured man. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect vehicle and its driver fled the scene before police could arrive, but the car was eventually traced to Treasure Island, the department said.
When SFPD officers arrived, they saw that the California Highway Patrol had already pulled over the female suspect on an unrelated issue. The woman was arrested and her car was towed for evidence. She was booked into jail on suspicion of homicide and her identity is not being released at this time so as to preserve the investigation, the department said. Although an arrest has been made this remains an open investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
