In a report by Defensescoop, the Army announced the selection of Amazon Web Services and World Wide Technology to support Project Griffin, an artificial intelligence-enabled cybersecurity initiative. The pilot program, valued at $2.6 million, operates under the Army Rapid Development of Cyber Defense Systems. This effort aims to integrate advanced cyber tools to detect, divert and deceive threat actors while utilizing agentic artificial intelligence to scale network defense. The Army seeks to build an ecosystem of agents capable of analyzing data from network sensors to execute defensive measures faster than human operators. Brandon Pugh, the secretary of the Army’s principal cyber advisor, noted that the initiative received over 100 industry submissions before selecting the two vendors.

Col. David Bergmann, the project manager for cyber warfare, emphasized that partnering with the private sector is a national security imperative to maintain technological superiority. World Wide Technology is collaborating with Crogl to provide integrations that connect artificial intelligence agents with existing cyber tools. This development follows a solicitation released in August for an Intelligent Response and Orchestration Node capability. The initiative reflects a broader defense strategy to counter potential digital attacks by leveraging rapid innovation in cloud architecture and cyber operations. Source: Defensescoop.
