First Alert Forecast: Band of rain may damper Halloween plans  NBC Los Angeles

Fall-like conditions are coming to Southern California in the form of an October storm this weekend. There’s a chance it may rain during trick-or-treat hours on Halloween. Shanna Mendiola has your First Alert Forecast for Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026. A system taking aim for the region could potentially put a damper on Halloween plans as rain may fall on Saturday. If that’s the case, it could make for Los Angeles’ first rainy Halloween since 2014. “After we say goodbye to the tides, we say hello to all the clouds and the elements coming from the sky,” NBC4 Meteorologist Shanna Mendiola said. “We could get a chance of showers on Friday and then, Halloween weekend, looking like the rain is going to return.” The timing of the rain is fluid since both meteorological weather models – the European Model (ECMWF) and the American Model (GFS) – are showing different forecasted times of arrival.
