Inde Navarrette Wins Halloween With Penis-Destroying Robot ‘SNL’ Sketch ‘The Inventor’s Wife’

After a pretty weak cold open that was crashed by Tom Hanks’ David S. Pumpkins, Donald Trump (who admitted he “might be gay”) and his MAGA minion Nicki Minaj, and an amusing opening monologue where host Inde Navarrette took a swipe at Shane Gillis, the Halloween edition of “Saturday Night Live” aired a surprisingly fun […]
The premise follows Navarrette as the widow of an eccentric inventor, described in her eulogy as someone who spent his final days in his workshop “building god knows what.” Back from the wake, she discovers he has left her the PD 44, a small robot with a Wall-E-like appearance. The pair become close, although she remains unsure of the machine’s intended purpose. Six years later, the character uses a dating app and meets Tom Oakland, played by Ben Marshall.
After a successful date, she brings him home for a nightcap and introduces him to PD. The robot then transforms into a larger threatening form, identified as the Penis Destroyer, attacks Tom and kills him with a laser. The widow, initially shocked by the name, concludes that her husband loved her after all.
