The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center is deploying a new Resident Maintenance Portal to better manage maintenance requests across installations. (Kameron Green/U.S. Air Force) The Air Force has rolled out a new online system for airmen living in government-owned housing to submit maintenance requests that should improve response times and make it easier to track progress. The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center began using the system at select locations earlier this month, and everyone in the service gained access as of Friday, according to a news release.
It pertains to residents of government-owned family housing and those in unaccompanied dormitories. “The goal is to provide total visibility and transparency,” said Rebecca Gutierrez, NexGen IT functional lead and technical adviser. “Whether a technician is scheduling an appointment or waiting on replacement parts, residents will know exactly where their repair stands.” The unified platform also eliminates repetitive administrative tasks for airmen, dormitory leaders and housing managers, according to the Air Force. Those personnel previously relied on standalone SharePoint sites to track requests and required staff to reenter every ticket by
