At least 1 Dallas County incumbent will head back to the Texas House  Dallas News

Democratic candidates are seeking to oust the only two Dallas County Republicans in the Texas House. With the majority of votes in for both races, Republican Morgan Meyer of University Park beat Democrat Allison Mitchell, a children’s book author, to win another term representing House District 108. Democrat Zach Herbert was leading the race against Republican Angie Chen Button of Richardson, but the race had not yet been declared as of early Wednesday morning. The Democrats are trying to flip at least 14 seats to gain a majority in the 150-member chamber. Herbert is an attorney and Marine veteran, and Mitchell is a children’s book author and small-business owner. Both races have featured clashes over public school funding, private school vouchers and property taxes, with Republicans defending their records on education and tax relief and the Democrats calling for more school funding and greater affordability.
