Austin Man Arrested After Alleged Threats Against UT, Local Church An Austin man has been arrested after allegedly making threats against the University of Texas and a local church. Austin police arrested 35-year-old David Benjamin Coleman-Roush early Friday morning in the 5700 block of Tapadera Trace Lane in North Austin. Coleman-Roush was charged with making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony. University of Texas Police Chief Shane Streepy said Coleman-Roush was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis when he allegedly made threats against the UT campus and others.
Austin police are leading the investigation, while UTPD said it is continuing to monitor the case and coordinate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the nature of the alleged threats or identified the church that was reportedly targeted. Coleman-Roush was booked into the Travis County Jail following his arrest.
