CHP Arrests Rideshare Driver Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Passenger  Patch

SAN DIEGO, CA — A rideshare driver accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old passenger in North County was arrested, and investigators are searching for additional possible victims, authorities said. Ramon Ochoa Reyes, 50, was arrested in connection with the alleged assault, which occurred around early Sept. 17 while he was driving a silver 2022 Honda Accord, according to the California Highway Patrol. The woman told authorities she was riding in the vehicle at about 2 a.m. as it traveled west on state Route 78 toward the Twin Oaks Valley Road offramp when the driver touched her inappropriately and sexually assaulted her.

She reported the alleged assault to CHP around 2:30 p.m. that day. The CHP Oceanside Area began investigating and contacted detectives with the agency's Border Division Major Crimes Unit, who later arrested Reyes. Because Reyes worked as a rideshare driver, investigators are seeking anyone who may have had a similar encounter with him.
