Columbus Police discover body while investigating stabbing downtown as people head to work  WSYX

Columbus police investigating a stabbing Tuesday morning discovered a body outside a building near East Gay Street and North Fourth Street, as people were headed to work downtown. Crime scene tape surrounded the Continental Tower as officers and the Franklin County coroner investigated a stabbing and suspicious death. Police said the stabbing victim was rushed to the hospital, but the person’s condition was not released. Officers arrived to investigate the stabbing around 8:30 a.m. and discovered a body outside the building. Elissa, who was visiting from Maryland, said she walked out of her hotel to a heavy police presence. “I came out of the hotel, and there was just all this police activity going on, it's a little bit of a surprise,” she said.

Elken Miller, who lives in the neighborhood, said she saw numerous police vehicles at the scene. “I saw all these squad cars out, there looked like a deceased person on the side of the rail,” Miller said. Neighbors said the person who died jumped from the roof of the building.
