During Operation Green Light, buildings and landmarks across the country are illuminated green to show support for veterans and raise awareness around the resources available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.

In 2025, 412 counties across 44 states participated in Operation Green Light. This year, NACo and NACVSO invited the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes, and boroughs to participate with hopes of achieving even larger numbers. Craven County lights an additional building green each year. This year, the Craven County Senior Center has been added to the group, which includes the St. Luke’s Building, Administration Building, Courthouse and Judicial Buildings, Veterans Services Center, Convention Center, and the Tax Administration/Register of Deeds building. The county’s role in administering services for veterans includes helping former service members access more than $52 billion in federal health, disability, and compensation benefits each
