Driver arrested after pursuit ends in pole crash and vehicle fire, one seriously hurt  WOAI

SAN ANTONIO — CASTLE HILLS, Texas — A driver was arrested and a passenger was seriously injured after a police pursuit ended with a fiery crash that knocked out power to several businesses Saturday night. Just before 11 p.m., officers noticed a vehicle near a closed business in the 1000 block of Jackson Keller Road. Police said the people inside appeared to be paying unusual attention to the business. Castle Hills Police officials said officers approached the vehicle after it stopped at a nearby apartment complex, but the driver sped away north on Jackson Keller Road. Police later found the vehicle after it crashed near Jackson Keller Road and the eastbound NW Loop 410 frontage road.

The crash knocked down a utility pole, cutting power to several businesses in the area, and the vehicle caught fire. Castle Hills firefighters extinguished the fire. One person inside the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken for medical treatment. Police did not provide an update on that person's condition. The driver ran from the crash but was caught by officers, according to police. Police said the driver has a lengthy felony history and is expected to face several new felony charges. Authorities have not released the driver's name or specified what charges will be filed. Power was later restored to the affected area.
