Ex-council member tells committee veterans’ emails were never forwarded to women advisers  The Hub | More Signal. Less Noise.

A former council member testified veterans' emails sat unforwarded for months. What happened to the women's advisers who never saw them? A former member of the Women Veterans Council told MPs that emails sent by women veterans through a Veterans Affairs portal meant to reach the council never arrived, and that the ones that did were stripped of any way to identify the sender. Jessica Miller, a retired sergeant who served 22 years as a medical technician, appeared before the Government Operations committee on Oct. 8 as part of its study on using federal land and buildings for veteran housing. She was one of five military veterans who resigned from the council at the one-year mark.

Conservative MP Sandra Cobena asked Miller to explain what led to her resignation. Miller said the council faced roadblocks over communication and over what the minister wanted from it. “I felt like I was just hitting a brick wall every time I tried to bring a suggestion up,” she said. She said the council’s page on the Veterans Affairs website invited women to contact members through a portal. “We never received those emails. They were just not forwarded on to us,” she said. When any did arrive, “all of the tombstone data was redacted. So we have no idea who even sent it.” Miller
