A Compton family is seeking answers after their pet husky was found hanging by a leash in the town next door. Amber Frias reports for the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. The Reyes family says they can’t wrap their minds around the devastating loss. The family, who live in Compton, said their 9-year-old husky, Ruso, was taken from their home on Oct. 4 then found hanging less than a mile away in Lynwood. “In your head, you would never imagine that somebody is capable of doing such an act, you know?” Filiberto Reyes said.
Shortly after the dog’s disappearance, Filiberto and his loved ones were alerted by neighbors to disturbing images that were circulating on social media. The images showed Ruso hanging by a leash from a metal security door in an alley in Lynwood. “I don't even know how to feel,” Reyes said. “I still feel like I'm trapped in a nightmare and I'm just waiting to wake up.” The man said his neighbors reported seeing a man and a woman interacting with the husky earlier that day. The case is now under investigation by the Los Angeles County
