Former ABC13 meteorologist Rachel Briers to join KPRC 2 weather team  Houston Chronicle

After leaving Houston's ABC13 in December, meteorologist Rachel Briers will soon join the KPRC Channel 2 weather team on a part-time basis. She announced her return to local news Thursday morning on her Facebook page. The station also sent out a press release Thursday announcing her addition. She'll join the weather team in early August. KPRC NEWS: Former KPRC 2 reporter Gage Goulding joins CNN as South Korea correspondent "The latest forecast just came through — there’s a 100% chance of me blowing back onto your TV screens," she wrote on her Facebook page. "I'm so excited for this next chapter at KPRC! I'm especially grateful that they've given me the flexibility to work part time, so I can keep doing the job I love while still prioritizing what matters most to me … my family." Ana Lastra, news director at KPRC, said weather is one of the most important services the station provides to viewers.

"Rachel's experience, local knowledge and passion for serving this community make her a tremendous addition to KPRC 2 Weather," Lastra said. "Together, we'll continue helping Houstonians prepare for what's ahead and making Houston better through the trusted journalism our community depends on."
