Ga. voters’ top issues: Jackson, Bottoms face questions in debate  WRDW

The issues everyday Georgians discuss at the kitchen table will soon be lobbed at Georgia’s two gubernatorial candidates in person. ATLANTA, Ga. — The issues everyday Georgians discuss at the kitchen table will soon be lobbed at Georgia’s two gubernatorial candidates in person. On Tuesday, News 12 will televise a debate between Republican nominee Rick Jackson and Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms. The debate will air live at 8 p.m. on WAGT Channel 26. You can also watch the debate plus an analysis afterward on WRDW.com or on WRDW+ if you have a streaming TV or device. Monday was the last day to register to vote in Georgia ahead of the Nov.

3 midterm elections. The event is a modified town hall format in which undecided voters can ask both candidates their most pressing questions. But what are the state’s residents concerned about? Polls provide a clue as to some topics Jackson and Bottoms may be asked to tackle. Across party lines, voters seem to agree: Health care is a key issue affecting their vote in the 2026 midterms. That’s according to a University of Georgia poll commissioned by the healthcare nonprofit Georgia Health Initiative.
