Desiree White is identified as a former nurse who left that profession to start an auto repair business. Her shift into automotive repair was accompanied by a TikTok following: she gained more than 160,000 followers on the platform. The audience developed alongside her work building the repair business, which she launched after ending her nursing career. Her experience therefore includes both the business she created in auto repair and the social-media following she built on TikTok. White’s Pro Tech Pathway Foundation offers hands-on training to people pursuing automotive careers.

The foundation’s stated purpose is to help others pursue work in the automotive field. Its hands-on training expands the activities associated with White beyond the auto repair business she launched after leaving nursing. The foundation also links her automotive experience with training intended for other people interested in automotive careers. By providing hands-on training, the foundation focuses on practical learning for those pursuing automotive work. It is part of the work she undertook after nursing and launching the business.
