The Jacksonville Aviation Authority has elected new leadership for fiscal year 2027, which begins Oct. 1. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Aviation Authority has elected new leadership for fiscal year 2027, which begins Oct. 1. Fernando Acosta-Rua will serve as board chair. He previously served as vice chair and succeeds David Hodges Jr. Acosta-Rua was appointed to the board by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2021. He is a principal and shareholder with Heritage Capital Group. Solomon Brotman will serve as vice chair. He was appointed to the board by Mayor Donna Deegan in 2023 and is a retired dentist. Andy Hofheimer will serve as secretary. Deegan appointed him to the board in 2023.

Hofheimer is principal at Sitehawks. Matt Connell will serve as treasurer. DeSantis appointed him to the board in 2020. Connell is co-founder and CEO of Total Military Management, a Jacksonville-based logistics company. The JAA board has seven members. The mayor appoints three members, while the governor appoints four. Each member may serve two consecutive four-year terms. Hailing from Detroit, Jonathan is excited to start his media career at News4JAX in November 2023.
