HOUSTON – A man was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head Saturday night in Houston’s Second Ward, and another man matching the suspected shooter’s description was later detained, Houston police said. Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 10 to the 5300 block of Harrisburg Boulevard, near Delmar Street, where they found the victim. He was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. Police said the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation at a shared housing complex.
The victim confronted the suspect about why he was at the property if he did not live there. The argument escalated into a physical fight before a gunshot was heard and the victim fell. About a mile east of the original scene, officers responding to another shooting call found a man with a gunshot wound to the foot who matched the suspect’s description. He was detained and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said the man is facing charges for an unrelated crime. Investigators have not announced charges connected to the fatal shooting.
