The 25th anniversary of 9/11 marks a milestone for the American people, a testament to resilience and strength to “Never Forget” the service members and fellow countrymen lost in the attacks on New York’s World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. There will be plentiful opportunities to mourn, remember, and serve your community in honor of the 9/11 attacks around the Denver metro area and beyond for those who are looking for a way to give back: What: Sable Altura Fire Rescue will commemorate the 9/11 attacks with a bell-ringing ceremony to toll the ‘Three Fives’ on a brass bell. The 5-5-5 signal signifies that firefighters are ‘going home,’ according to the history of fire service.

The ‘Three Fives’ ringing will be followed by a moment of silence to fulfill a promise to Never Forget. The department also hosts a piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center, which will be on display in a memorial garden designed for viewers to touch the steel or sit peacefully in remembrance.
