Monsignor John Johnson of St. Agatha’s dies after being struck by vehicle, police say WSYX
A pedestrian died after he was struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Upper Arlington. The pedestrian was identified as Monsignor John Johnson of St. Agatha’s Church in Upper Arlington. He died Wednesday night after being treated for his injuries, according to a post on the city's Facebook page. "He was a source of spiritual guidance, and inspiration to countless parishioners throughout his years of priesthood, especially those here at St. Agatha," the church said in an Instagram post. Investigators said the crash happened at Tremont and Ridgecliff roads Tuesday morning. "The Diocese of Columbus is saddened by this tragic event, for those involved, and for the loss of such a remarkable priest that has invested in the lives of Central Ohioans for many years," a statement from the Diocese of Columbus said.
"He will be greatly missed by his brother priests and parishioners throughout the 23 counties of the Diocese of Columbus."
