The Oswego Fire Protection District and Oswego Police Department want residents to know that a video circulating on social media showing police and firefighters assisting ICE agents is from Oswego, New York, and not Oswego, Illinois. Fire Chief Josh Flanders says the department has received multiple calls, emails and visits to the fire station about the video, many from people who were unhappy with the district.

Flanders is asking people not to criticize the department or its personnel for something that did not happen in Illinois. He says he is always willing to hear from residents but asks that people make sure they are talking about the correct Oswego. The video shows local police and firefighters assisting ICE agents by using a ladder to help get someone down from a roof. We're always interested in hearing about news in our community. Let us know what's going on!
