The Pope's first event since his lung cancer diagnosis and surgery saw him recite the traditional Angelus prayer from the balcony of the Apostolic Palace. Pope Leo XIV held his first public engagement since his lung cancer surgery on Sunday, as he recited the Angelus prayer from the window of Vatican's Apostolic Palace. The surgery had taken place just a few days before, after Pope Leo had been diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma, the most common form of lung cancer. After the prayer, he thanked the people who have prayed for him in recent days and said he appreciated the support. He added he will now gradually return to his commitments as he recovers.
