Snarled Traffic Thursday Morning On Bay Area Bridges And Roadways  Patch

An attempted U-turn on a Bay Area bridge is backing up traffic. BAY AREA, CA —Two crashes have backed up traffic on Bay Area bridges including the San Mateo bridge where a motorist tried to make a U-turn and crashes on the Bay Bridge. The California Highway Patrol has issued a severe traffic alert because of a traffic collision with injuries on CA-92 westbound at the San Mateo Bridge High Rise. The left lane is blocked. Drivers should expect delays. Authorities suggest using the Dumbarton Bridge to avoid the back-up. CHP also reported a traffic Hazard on I-280 southbound north of Golf Course Drive. The left lane is blocked and delays expected.

However, traffic is slower than usual on the Bay Bridge because of a crash near the toll plaza, according to reports. CHP is reporting a traffic Hazard on I-80 eastbound west of Treasure Island Road. Lanes are blocked and traffic delays are expected. Expect 20-40 minutes delays getting through the Maze. On 880, the left lane is blocked by a traffic collision in the southbound direction north of West A Street. Drivers should expect delays there. Roadwork on Highway 101 southbound near 580 East near San Rafael will be slow due to a closed ramp until 7 a.m. In San Francisco, drivers are advised to avoid the intersection
