This spirit not only brought America into being but is essential for our nation to preserve its sovereignty into the future.

America again defied those who would undermine our right to self-rule on July 13 when Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the Trump administration would “dismantle” the International Criminal Court and teach them “the full meaning of American resolve.”

This will include diplomatic pressure on nations that partner with American law enforcement or our military and enjoy the benefits of our protection, coordination with allies to join us in rejecting International Criminal Court (ICC) authority, sanctions against the ICC and its affiliates, and visa bans for ICC personnel. I have pushed for similar policies legislatively, including the ” ICC Out of NYC Act ,” legislation that would forbid United Nations properties in New York City from being used, leased or occupied by representatives or employees of the ICC.

The ICC, however, remains convinced of its own power to pierce the veil of American sovereignty and wage lawfare against American citizens, soldiers and public servants alike. A global court that attempts to wield ultimate authority – above and beyond the authority of any nation state – poses a direct and dire threat to the continued sovereignty of the United States that can no longer be tolerated.

As Americans, we wholeheartedly reject the notion that a supranational entity, especially one formed by a statute that was never ratified by our country, has legitimate jurisdiction over our citizens and our leaders. The U.S. Constitution is our law and guide and none other.

To forfeit the legal authority of the United States government to an unaccountable transnational organization would amount to a betrayal of the American people – and an abdication of our right to self-rule.

An active and emboldened ICC means that American sovereignty is contingent on the whims of a globalist entity run by those who have never stood for election in front of the American people, never represented America’s interests, and never sworn loyalty to America’s Constitution. No self-respecting nation, certainly not one founded in rebellion against the tyranny of a far-off power, can allow unelected globalists to wield unchecked power against its citizens, soldiers and leaders.

The United States has worked to impose limits on the ICC for decades, with presidents from both parties warning against the threat posed by the court to American sovereignty. No president, from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush to Barack Obama, has been willing to ratify the Rome Statute, which would surrender American sovereignty into the hands of globalist bureaucrats empowered to launder their political grievances through the language of unenforceable international law.

But despite past presidents’ reluctance to fully legitimize the court, none were willing to take decisive action to prevent the severe breaches of sovereignty that the ICC remains capable of committing today. Tepid half-measures are not sufficient in the fight to defend America’s sovereignty.

Only President Donald Trump is proving bold enough to take decisive action against the capabilities of the ICC, necessary to ensure that American citizens and servicemembers are never subjected to tribunals, and so America’s elected leaders are never threatened with arrest for acting in accordance with our country’s national interest.

No nation is truly independent when it allows an unaccountable court to sit above it and claim jurisdiction over its people and elected officials. Meeker countries may be content handing veto power over their foreign and domestic policy to an unaccountable supranational body, but such a blatant departure from national self-rule is entirely alien to the American tradition, mind and spirit.

It’s why the Trump administration is right to take on the ICC and ensure it never has the capability to threaten the United States and her people.

It’s a rough-and-tumble game, and lots of lives get upended, if not even more seriously wrecked, when national attention turns to the backstory of every candidate on whom the searchlights turn.

Now more than ever, every candidate must be warned again and again that Luke 8:17 is very much true and indeed inevitable for every candidate in every race in which any opponent has the means to dig deep. As the number of media platforms has grown and grown, so too has the number of reporters eager for a “scoop” or anything close to one.

Producing the soiled linen on any candidate — “R” or “D” — produces clicks and thus heightens the profile of the journalist with the byline. No rumor is too outrageous to check out. And every old girlfriend or boyfriend, business competitor or colleague, and even family member with a score to settle views campaigns as an opportunity not to be missed.

Which is why every would-be candidate ought to subject himself or herself first to self-scrutiny and then to a gauntlet of “friendly” professionals who specialize in digging up “opposition research.”

If an unflattering story exists, it can be found, and it will be found. And it will be on every front page.

Which brings us to the people who recruited Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner. Platner dropped out of the race for Senate in Maine on Wednesday night. Platner owns his own life story. Whatever he did and didn’t do cannot be undone or made up for. It’s just the facts of every life, and no life is going to emerge unscathed from searching — and often searing — reviews. 

This is what candidates have to fully grasp. It will all come out. Every bit of the bad and not much of the good. Forewarned is forearmed.

Call attention to the very worst parts of your life and bio at the start of a campaign. If your candidacy can’t survive self-disclosure and apology, your candidacy will fail, and the failure will be all the more painful when it arrives.

But if his one-time backers didn’t lay out these tough facts about the hard realities of politics in 2026, the now former candidate may be more angry with them than he is with himself at this point.

If he was misled about what could be papered over, it wouldn’t be an irrational response.

But Platner’s saga is already a tale worth telling every candidate in every race coming down the road in the years ahead: “[N]othing is secret that will not be revealed.”

Apple released iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2 and macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 on June 29, 2026. The updates include security fixes for vulnerabilities tied to the kernel, WebKit and WebRTC. Apple says these fixes were first made available through the iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6 and macOS Tahoe 26.6 betas before being pushed out early to everyone.

That is the part that should make you pause. Apple usually rolls many security fixes into larger software updates. This time, the company moved faster.

Apple reportedly accelerated the updates because artificial intelligence can help speed the creation of malicious hacking tools. Once a fix appears in a beta, attackers may be able to study it, reverse-engineer the weakness and move faster than before.

Apple said there was no evidence that the newly patched vulnerabilities had been exploited. Still, the company wanted to shrink the time between when fixes were first visible and when they reached your devices.

That is a major shift. It suggests Apple sees AI as a force that changes the timing of security. A flaw that once gave defenders more breathing room may now become a race.

Apple’s iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2 notes list fixes for iPhone 11 and later, along with several supported iPad models. The security content includes kernel vulnerabilities that could let an app crash the system, corrupt kernel memory or leak sensitive kernel state.

The update also fixes multiple WebKit issues. WebKit powers Safari and web content inside many apps. Some of these flaws involved malicious web content that could lead to crashes, memory corruption, data leaks or sandbox escapes.

Apple also fixed WebRTC issues that could be triggered by malicious web content and lead to Safari or process crashes.

For Mac, Apple lists macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 as the current release. If your Mac runs macOS Sonoma or macOS Sequoia, Apple also lists Safari 26.5.2 as a June 29, 2026, security release.

AI can help legitimate researchers find bugs faster. That is good when the work leads to stronger software and responsible disclosure. However, the same general capability can also help bad actors move faster. A criminal does not need to understand every line of code if an AI tool can help summarize a patch, compare software changes or suggest where a weakness may be hiding.

That is why Apple’s move is important. It shows that big tech companies may need to release security fixes sooner and more often, even when those updates do not include flashy new features. The wider AI world adds pressure here. Frontier AI companies have released or tested systems with stronger coding and cybersecurity capabilities. Some models are available only through limited previews, approved access or extra safeguards because of their potential cyber use.

Similar efforts are also emerging outside the United States. Several international AI labs and security companies now promote models designed to find vulnerabilities, analyze code and assist cyber defense. The takeaway for you isn’t that AI is automatically bad. The real point is speed. Security teams, attackers and AI tools are now moving on a shorter clock.

Before you update, plug in your device and connect to Wi-Fi. You may also want to back up your iPhone or iPad first.

Then do this: Open Settings > General > Software Update > Download and Install.

After the update finishes, go back to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates. Make sure automatic updates are turned on. Apple also lets your device automatically install system file updates that improve security without changing the full software version. If you do not see the update right away, check again later. Apple releases updates in stages, and your device also needs enough battery and storage.

On a Mac, start with a backup. Then click the Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update . Choose Update Now if macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 appears.

Next, check your background update settings. On macOS Tahoe 26 or later, go to Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update . Click the More Info button next to Automatic Updates and make sure Install system data files and security updates is turned on.

If your Mac runs Sonoma or Sequoia, look for Safari 26.5.2 in Software Update as well. That Safari update may be the protection your Mac needs if you are not on Tahoe.

BEWARE OF HACKERS SHOWING UP PRETENDING TO BE IT

You may see more security updates that feel sudden or small. That can be annoying, especially when you are busy or your device needs to restart.

Still, these updates are becoming more important. Apple is reacting to a world where AI can help shorten the time between a public fix and a possible attack.

So, when your iPhone, iPad or Mac asks you to update, do not treat it like background noise. The update may be closing a door someone else is already trying to find.

Installing the Apple AI security update is the best first move. After that, tighten a few habits that make attacks harder.

Your operating system is only part of the security picture. Outdated apps can still create risk, especially if they handle messages, web links, photos, files or account logins. Open the App Store and install available updates regularly.

Be careful with links in texts, emails and social media messages. WebKit and browser flaws are a reminder that malicious web content can be part of an attack. When in doubt, open the official app or website yourself instead of tapping a link.

Use strong, unique passwords for every account and store them in a password manager. Then turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible. If one password gets exposed, you do not want it opening the door to your email, bank or Apple account.

Back up your iPhone, iPad and Mac before problems hit. A recent backup can help you recover faster if an update fails, your device gets stolen or malware locks you out of important files. Apple’s early security release shows how fast the cyber threat landscape is changing. The company says there is no evidence these newly patched flaws were exploited, but it still moved the fixes out before the wider 26.6 release. That tells me the old habit of waiting weeks to update is getting riskier. AI can help defenders, but it can also help criminals study weaknesses faster. My advice is direct: update your Apple devices now, turn on automatic security updates and stop putting off patches that protect the phone and computer you use every day.
