(NASDAQ: NXST), has appointed Brian Gregory president and general manager of WCNC, its NBC affiliate in Charlotte, North Carolina, and WFMY, its CBS affiliate in Greensboro. Gregory, a broadcast television executive with nearly 30 years of industry experience, will oversee operations, financial performance, news and content development, advertising sales, digital and streaming initiatives, and community engagement at both stations. The appointment is part of a broader leadership restructuring at TEGNA under CEO Patrick Paolini, who has overseen the creation or filling of more than a dozen leadership positions across the company’s corporate and local station operations.

Gregory succeeds Joan Barrett, who was recently promoted to group general manager for TEGNA’s Northeast and Southeast regions. “As we strengthen leadership across TEGNA, we’re looking for people who develop talent and deliver results. Brian does both,” Barrett said. “WCNC and WFMY are in good hands, and I’m looking forward to what these teams accomplish under Brian’s direction.” Gregory joins the North Carolina stations from WVEC, TEGNA’s ABC affiliate in Norfolk, Virginia, where he led station operations and helped expand the broadcaster’s digital and streaming offerings.
