Trump set to meet with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday

President Donald Trump will meet with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday, the mayor’s office confirmed to NBC News. In a statement, Mamdani’s office said the two would meet at Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence, to discuss “issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers.” The president will be in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly meeting, where he is set to deliver remarks on Tuesday and meet with global leaders. This will be at least the third public meeting between Trump and Mamdani, who have previously met at the White House. The two first met in November 2025. The Democratic mayor, who was first elected almost a year ago, and the president have had a mostly friendly relationship, though they have at times publicly criticized each other.
