Undercover sting at Westside smoke shop leads to felony charge  MySA

A smoke shop clerk was arrested after an undercover sting on the Westside by a San Antonio police officer, according to an arrest warrant. The undercover San Antonio police officer went to Blvck Diamond Smoke Shop at 1416 West Hildebrand Avenue on July 14 as part of an ongoing drug investigation. San Antonio police said 35-year-old Justin Nathaniel Gonzalez sold the undercover officer 2 grams of THC wax/oil, which field tested positive for the high-causing substance. Police were able to identify Gonzalez throughout the investigation and made an ID photo match. He was arrested on Tuesday, August 18, and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, between 1 and 4 grams, a second-degree felony.

A judge set a $20,000 bond for Gonzalez, which he has since posted, according to online Bexar County records. Gonzalez has retained Daniel Mehler, known as San Antonio’s “dopest lawyer,” a defense lawyer who has built a brand around defending folks hit with drug charges.
