Veterans Affairs awards $256,674 in grants for adaptive sports programs in Utah  Park Record | Park City, Utah

One of the three grantees was the National Ability Center in Park City. The Department of Veterans Affairs awarded $256,674 in grants to three community-based organizations in Utah that provide adaptive sports programs, including the National Ability Center in Park City. The other two are Just Breathe Adaptive Scuba in Provo and Continue Mission in Woods Cross. This funding is part of $16 million in grants awarded to 91 organizations nationwide to advance adapted sports programs for veterans and active-duty service members. Adaptive sports programs give veterans opportunities to build independence, well being and quality of life through a variety of competitive and recreational activities, the VA said. These activities, such as archery, skiing, cycling, wheelchair softball, hunting, fishing and others enable veterans to rehabilitate through recreation and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle, according to the VA.
